Katie Fox

Account Executive

AKA “Focused Fox

As one of our dedicated liaisons between Spark451 and our partner schools, Katie brings passion, energy, and knowledge to her role as an account executive. With a B.S. in global business from Fordham University in New York City, her education included an internship at a marketing agency, where she managed multiple accounts and campaigns, including tracking metrics and handling communications between influencers and brands.

Small town at heart, Katie grew up in New Hampshire in a town with no stores or even a gas station. “I literally lived closer to a cow farm and pick-your-own blueberries farm than a grocery store!”

What do you love most about working in higher education and why?

The marketing materials I received from different colleges played a huge role when I was in high school, trying to decide where to take that next big step in my future. To be a part of the process in helping students figure out the best place for them is so rewarding, and I know that I’m making a difference!

How did you choose your profession/why?

Marketing provides the perfect intersection between analytical and creative thinking. I love thinking about how to convey detailed information in an aesthetically pleasing way that sparks people’s attention, and marketing certainly does that.

What is your life theme song and why?

“Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves. I’ve always loved this song, so much so that I had a toothbrush that sang this song while you brushed your teeth when I was a kid. It’s such a mood booster and always makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.

When you aren’t busy being a Sparkler, what is something that you like to do and why?

I spend a lot of time cooking and baking. Whether it’s hosting a weeknight dinner and trying a new recipe for my friends, throwing a party with homemade pizzas, or baking bagels to bring to my family and friends, I love trying out new recipes — and seeing how complicated a baked good I can whip up. My best are croissants, but I’m taking suggestions for new things that will test my skills and tiny kitchen!
