AKA “Diligent Dawn

Not only does this Hofstra Pride Lioness have a sharp eye for grammar and style, she also has a few sharp edges, as evidenced by several of her tattoos and passion for writing short stories with dark themes.

What is the most memorable experience you’ve had at Spark451 thus far and why?

The first meeting I ever sat in on, which took place during the first hour of my first day. I was so impressed with how inclusive an experience it was, and I knew immediately that I was going to be working with some of the smartest people I've ever known.

How did you choose your profession/why?

I've always had an affinity for grammar, and there's no denying well-written work always stays with a reader. I love the polishing process—the act of taking something that's already great and making it shine just a little brighter...and I was tired of writing about things like commercial toilets as a professional copywriter.

What is your favorite quote and why?

"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." I struggled with understanding John Milton while I was studying him, but this line from "Paradise Lost" really spoke to me. It's something I remind myself of when it's hard to get out of my own head and get out of my own way.

Which decade do you love the most and why?

The 1940s. It was such a pivotal time in world history, and America was brimming with new ideas in all facets, from fashion to patriotism in the workforce. Plus, Molly was my favorite American Girl in the collection.
